Village population figures are from "Répertoire des communes" by Michelin, and official online sources. Most are based on the 1989 census, but we're slowly changing to the 1999 French census figures.
We feel ours are the best comprehensive population figures available to
show the comparative sizes of the Beyond towns and villages, even
though some villages do have more recent figures available from
their own municipal information.
