May is festival month in Provence, with roses in Grasse, gypsies in the Camargue, F1 race cars in Monaco and the Film Festival in Cannes. Travel can be difficult, but hang out at the Nice airport to see famous people coming and going.
Sheep are celebrated with Transhumance festivals, bare bottoms with the Arles Photography festivals, and Van Gogh and other artists celebrated in St Remy.
