The flowers grow on the upper halves of long, thin stems. As the name might imply, the stem and calyx are covered in sticky hairs. The stems are erect and branched, and the flowers often face the same way.

15-45 cm (short-med)
Flower Blossom.
5 petals; 11 mm. White or pink flowers, with long calyx. The enclosing calyx is prominently bulbous, with dark veins, and toothed. The petals may or may not be notched.
Leaves.
The leaves are long and opposite, with the lower leaves being stalked and spatula shaped.
Habitat.
Cultivated and waste ground, waysides.
