The common name for this dwarf shrub derives from the powerful aroma of curry when the leaves or stems are crushed. The branches and leaves are densely covered with whitish hairs, giving the bush a greyish-white appearance.

Narrow, linear, and heavily white felted, around 20-30 cm long, and often thick along the stems.

Garrigue, rocky and sandy ground, including dunes near the coast.
