Unlike Iris germanica, found everywhere in gardens, this iris loses its leaves in winter and blooms much later. The Iris pallida leaves are more bluish-green than the German Iris, and are thick and finely ribbed.

Flower Blossom.
Suavely-scented.
Habitat.
Rocky ground and scrub. Excellent for steep banks to stabilize the soil.
