• Bauduen Observatory (Observatoire Astronomique de Bauduen) [Bauduen Observatory Area Map] - This amateur observatory, located near the south end of the Lac de Sainte Croix (in the Var department) has a 62-cm telescope and a 31-cm telescope.
• CERGA Observatory (Observatoire de CERGA) [Calern Plateau Area Map] - The Observatoire du CERGA is located on the southern edge of the Plaine de Calern in the hills north of Grasse and Nice. CERGA does specialized research in measuring movements of the Earth and development of astronomical instruments.
• Champtercier Observatory [Champtercier Area Map] - This small observatory located by the 16th-century village of Champterier in the hills west of Digne-les-Bains is run by the Cati-Scorpius association, for observations of planets and the sun.
• Haute-Provence Observatory (Observatoire de Haute-Provence) [Haute-Provence Observatory Area Map] - This astronomical observatory is located on a low hill of the wide plains southwest of Forcalquier and northwest of Manosque, in the Alpes-de-Haute-Provence department.
