This itinerary visits five villages to the southeast of Aix-en-Provence. The route is a loop, with a total distance of 65 km (about 1h35 driving time).

Depart Aix to the east, on Bvd Poilus and then Route Cézanne; this is the D17 via Le Tholonet and St Antonin-sur-Bayon to Puyloubier.
Puyloubier
Churches: 14th-c Sainte-Marie, 1870 Saint-Pons. Chapels: Saint-Pancrace, 14-c Saint-Roch.
Location: 18 km east of Aix-en-Provence, at the eastern end of the Sainte Victoire mountain.

Head south on the D12 and follow it directly to Trets. Trets
A market town in a wine and farming area. Medieval origins, with prehistoric ancestry. Chateau with ramparts; Romanesque Notre-Dame de Nazareth church; theSaint-Jean-du-Puy Chapel on a nearby peak was once an hermatige.
Location: 20 km southeast of Aix-en-Provence.

The simplest way is to return north 4 km and turn left (west) on the N7 to Chateauneuf-le-Rouge. Chateauneuf-le-Rouge
The village has a 16th/17th century park of about 8 hectares, including a labyrinth of box bushes.

Go south on the small D46, passing below the autoroute and the N7, then over the top of a second autoroute and on to Fuveau. Fuveau
A picturesque 11th-century village with a backdrop of Sainte Victoire. Fuveau village has a number of chapels from the 16th to 19th centuries, an 18th century Medieval portail, an oil mill and a 19th-c lavoir. A museum of butterflies (papillons) and Provencal transportation.

Go west, then NW on the D96 (direction "Aix" via La Barque). At the junction with the N7 turn left (west) onto the route de Valbrillant to Meyreuil. Meyreuil
The 11th-century chapel Saint-Marc de l'Arc was enlarged in 1444.
Location: Small village 5 km southeast of Aix-en-Provence.

Go west, then immediately right (north) on the route de Font Gamette (D58H) via the Pont des Trois Sautets to Aix-en-Provence.
